Smart Control Aquascape

New Wifi Technology Replaces Old

Aquascape released their “Smart Control Line” in 2020, which now replaces all variable speed pumps receivers. All pumps are now controlled via the Aquascape App available for smart phones (IOS and Andriod).

All new variable speed Aquascape pumps come with a smart control receiver. However they do not come with a universal physical remote anymore. You can still purchase a physical remote seperately.

The old style Aquascape pumps (pre 2020) CAN be paired with a new SMART receiver (which gives your you access to the Aquascape App to control it).

All new smart pumps and smart receivers CAN still use the universal remote (black remotes that came with the old style pumps). These remotes can also be purchased newly.

Setting up a new Aquascape Smart Control Receiver – Variable speed pumps

  1. The receiver includes a physical toggle switch (bottom of receiver) that allows the pump to be operated in the two modes. Ensure the receiver is set to “O” to use with app or a universal remote control.

I can’t connect my pump to the app…

The most common issue is poor Wifi signal… click here to find out how to improve your wifi signal…

To test the strength of your network we recommend the app called Wi-Fi Sweet Spots – you will connect to your wireless network, then open this app and place your phone right next to the where the device will be that you are attempting to connect. Typically, we would like to see a reading of over 10 Mbps. If the readings are dropping below 10 Mbps you will have connection issues

If the signal is not strong enough you will need to purchase a wireless network extender. There are many options available on Amazon.

You need to be connected to a 2.4Ghz network. 5Ghz networks will not work for our Smart Control Devices.

I have great Wifi signal and I still can’t connect my pump to the app…

You may need to perform a “Double Reset”. See video.
